Schyler is an experienced litigator involved in all aspects of Bowie & Jensen’s commercial litigation process. Her responsibilities include investigation, legal research, pleadings, petitions, motions practice, discovery, trial work and preparation, and negotiations. She is highly adaptable and skilled at managing a wide variety of cases, which allows her to participate fully in serving clients.
Licensed to practice law in Virginia and Maryland, Schyler possesses a great deal of trial experience in Circuit and District Courts, involving a variety of civil and criminal matters. She has a diverse commercial litigation practice in areas including equal opportunity employment, wrongful death, consumer protection, contract law, collections, lemon law, civil rights, and defamation, and has had many successes representing businesses on a wide variety of matters in court.
She began her career participating in all court proceedings as a Judicial Clerk in Baltimore County. She then joined a trial law firm as a Litigation Associate, where her work included participating in and attending mediations and arbitrations, interacting with clients and witnesses in deposition and trial preparation, completing legal research, memoranda, pleadings and motions, and representing clients in court.
While in law school, Schyler was a Rule 16 Student Attorney at the Mediation for Families Clinic, representing pro bono clients during mediation in Circuit Court and serving as lead counsel in family law cases. She also served as a Law Clerk at a small general practice firm, where she researched legal issues and assisted in all aspects of litigation.
Schyler approaches litigation logically and realistically, always prepared to face a challenge. She is skillful in her interactions with clients and coworkers alike, as she possesses both knowledgeable insight and a collaborative spirit.
