Bowie & Jensen partner, Matthew Esworthy, was recently appointed as Co-Chair of the MSBA Cybersecurity Task Force. Matthew’s Co-Chairs include Spencer S. Pollock from Cybersecurity Practice Lead Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP and Kam Williams from Pessin Katz Law, P.A.
In early 2021, the MSBA formed the Cybersecurity Task Force to evaluate opportunities for expansion in the area of cybersecurity. According to its mission statement, the Task Force’s goal is to address issues affecting how lawyers safeguard their practices and their client’s confidential information and intellectual property in the event of a cyber attack. In carrying out its mission, the Task Force will identify cyber-related concerns that require action from the MSBA, educate members of the bar on cybersecurity risks and ethical issues that arise in the cyber arena, analyze cybersecurity proposals from executive and legislative branches, and facilitate collaboration and conversations pertaining to cybersecurity among MSBA entities.
For almost two decades, businesses and individuals in the region have relied on Matt for representation in a variety of matters at the trial and appeals court levels.
