Bowie & Jensen Member, Mark T. Jensen, was appointed to the Maryland Health Care Commission, a state regulatory agency by Governor Larry Hogan and approved by the Senate to begin his 4-year term on October 1, 2021.

Mr. Jensen is an active member on a number of boards and committees of organizations throughout his community, including KeraLink International, Greenspring Financial Insurance Limited, Evapco, CARE Pharmacies, the Make Well Known Foundation, The Hampden Family Center and more. For many years, Mr. Jensen has also played a leading role in supporting Maryland’s healthcare institutions. He has served on the board of MedStar Health System (2010-2019), chairing its Patient Safety and Quality Committee, and as a member of its Audit, Strategic Planning, and Investment Committees. Prior to that, he chaired the board of MedStar Union Memorial Hospital (2001-2010), where he also led the Patient Safety and Quality Committee. He has also served the Maryland Hospital Association in a variety of roles, including as Chair of its Executive Committee, member of its Operations Committee, and member of its Council on Clinical and Quality Issues.

The Maryland Health Care Commission is a regulatory agency with the mission of planning the State’s health-system needs, promoting informed decision-making, increasing accountability, and improving access. The Commission provides policy makers, purchasers, healthcare providers, and the general public with timely information on the availability, cost, and quality of healthcare services throughout the State of Maryland.

Mr. Jensen co-founded Bowie & Jensen and oversees all transactional work for the firm’s clients. He represents private companies and nonprofits in a variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and succession planning.
