Recently, partner Matthew Esworthy was quoted in the article, “Why NY’s Criminal Discovery Reforms Aren’t a Boon to E-Discovery.”

While New York state’s criminal discovery reforms to improve access to evidence were welcomed by many, observers say they may not lead to higher adoption of e-discovery tools, despite the need for more quick, efficient review.

“For defendants that are indigent, the e-discovery stuff can quickly become expensive,” says Esworthy. However, Esworthy noted that “there are cases that require [technology], and some cases it’s a luxury you don’t want to pay for.”
