Mark T. Jensen, Jeremy T. Garner and the mergers and acquisitions team at Bowie & Jensen, LLC recently played a major role in the acquisition of KeraLink International, Inc.’s domestic operations by CorneaGen, Inc.
KeraLink International, Inc. is a Baltimore-based eye bank focused in corneal transplant services that has transferred its domestic operations to Seattle-based company CorneaGen as of March 1st, 2019. CorneaGen specializes in corneal care and transplant services. As a result of the transaction, approximately 100 KeraLink employees transferred to CorneaGen, and KeraLink’s eye banks centers and products will fall under the CorneaGen brand name. In addition, KeraLink will continue to operate in the international market Baltimore area from its headquarters, as an independent nonprofit organization. CEO of CorneaGen, Monty Montoya, expressed that CorneaGen and KeraLink made for “logical partners” as a result of their shared mission to treat patients suffering from corneal blindness as well as promote better corneal care on an international scale.
