Matt Esworthy Co-Presented at the 2018 Iowa State Bar IP Law & eCommerce Seminar on the Data Seizure and the CLOUD Act

On Friday, November 30, Matt Esworthy had the pleasure of presenting at the Iowa State Bar’s 2018 eCommerce and Intellectual Property Law Seminar on The CLOUD Act with Eileen Rumfelt of Miller & Martin in Atlanta, GA.  The CLOUD Act was signed into law in March 2018 as part of an omnibus spending bill, and governs the extraterritorial reach of criminal warrants. It also creates a scheme by which the executive branch can enter into agreements with foreign governments for the inter-country exchange of data by law enforcement.
