Bowie & Jensen partner, Mark T. Jensen, has earned certification by Kukkiwon and now holds a second degree black-belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Mr. Jensen skillfully prevailed through the certification process for a twenty-seven hour period, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, March 20th and ending at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 21st. This test of wits, endurance, and strength included a half marathon of 6.5 miles of continuous running, followed by 6.5 miles of hauling a weighted sled or sprinting up and down stairs, four hours of vigorous gym exercise, and four hours of rest. The test also included a day of showcasing mastery of Tae Kwon Do curriculum which included 13 forms and more than 250 variations of kicks, strikes, punches, self-defense moves, sparring moves, kick combos, and a personally crafted exhibition by Mr. Jensen of each move.

The 27-hour event closed with one-on-one sparring matches which then progressed to two-on-one, and concluded with the splitting of over 70 boards with a full variety of strikes, punches and kicks.

Mr. Jensen has an impressive competition record that includes six state championships and three national championships and he credits his success to his instructor, Master Frantz Cadet Francois at Cadet Martial Arts and Fitness. Many of the accomplishments Mr. Jensen has achieved in the legal field can be attributed to the teachings he has learned practicing Tae Kwon Do. His patience with clients and their needs, the courtesy he shows to those around him, and the integrity of Mr. Jensen’s work is indicative of the five tenets of Tae Kwon Do. Also, his relentless perseverance to achieve the best results for clients, and the self-control to understand the delicate balance between work and life allow Mr. Jenson’s indomitable spirit to exude in all facets of his life.
