Firm partner, William McComas will be presenting at Law Links, a summer internship program for high school students around the state. The topic of the seminar, “Welcome to the Jungle” will explore issues in technology law including cyberbullying, intellectual property, and other emerging and converging technology law issues on the web.

As one of Maryland’s leading technology law attorneys, Mr. McComas will explore the impact of cyber bullying in relation to the new Maryland Law recently passed: “Grace’s Law.” He will review privacy consents, websites, and communications which can impact the daily usage of the computer. Mr. McComas will also explore the Bind, Torture, Kill (aka “The BTK”) Investigation of a serial killer in Wichita, Kansas. The police led a thorough investigation for 30 years using the latest biological and computer forensics. However, it was the media who brought the case to a successful close. The BTK killer craved media attention and used the computer as his means of communication. Controversial media strategies led to the arrest of this infamous criminal.
